The untimely passing of Johnny Wilson on Sunday August 15, 2004 was a shock to all who knew him. He was a well-respected member of the Georgia fire service community and the National Professional Qualifications System. He was also a friend. | ||

| Johnny was a true leader in the advancement of Fire Service Professional Qualifications not only in Georgia but nationally... In every capacity Johnny served with dignity, professionalism, and as a true gentleman, always acting in the best interest of our nation’s fire service. | |||

| On August 19, 2004, Kevin O’Connell, Liz Summers, and I attended the funeral for Johnny G. Wilson. Over 500 people attended the service at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center auditorium which was a great tribute to a wonderful man. Johnny was 53 years of age and will be greatly missed by the Pro Board. | |||
